When we talk about skin care treatment, thoughts of acne skin care treatment came to mind. Well, that is not the only skin care treatment around as there are actually various types of skin care treatments for you to choose from. Even if you have flawless, crystal clear smooth skin, you may want to go for some facial skin care treatment, if only to maintain the beauty of your skin.
There are so many types of skin care treatments available at beauty salons such as anti aging skin care treatment, laser skin care treatment, oily skin care treatment, acne skin care treatement, dry skin care treatment and so on. However, you don’t really need to visit a beauty salon for some pampering session for your skin. If the expense and bother of going to a beauty salon is too much for you to even bother, then you should try it out at home.
All you need is the right products such as acne skin care treatment products if you have acne-prone skin and the necessary skin care products such as cleanser, exfoliator, facial mask, facial steamer, toner and moisturizer. Now, if you don’t have a facial steamer or exfoliator or facial mask, don’t worry! You can always improvise.
Here are the steps to a real natural skin care treatment right at home. You know what they say…the best skin care treatment is when you do what is right for your skin!
First step: you need to get your face clean. So, start with using your cleanser to wash your face. Remember to rinse your face till there are no more cleanser residue on your skin.
Second step: clear off those dead skin cells by exfoliation. If you don’t have an exfoliator, you can always make your own homemade exfoliator. You can mix oatmeal with some water and a few drops of honey and then use it to exfoliate your skin. Or, if you have oily skin, you can mix honey with some sea salt and scrub away. The easiest one is to mix sugar and some olive oil and then use it as a scrub. Whichever one you choose, remember to slough off those dead skin cells before going for the next step.
Third step: it is time to open up those pores before you put on a nourishing facial mask so that your skin can absorb all the nourishment from the mask and let it clear off the remaining pore-clogging dead skin cells. Now, if you don’t have a facial steamer, fret not. All you need to do is to pour hot boiling water into a basin, then you put yourself face down over the basin and cover your head with a towel. Remember not to go too close as the steam is pretty hot! Also, if you fancy some aromatherapy, you can add a few drops of essential oils of your choice into the water before steaming your face.
Fourth step: Now that you have your pores all open and ready, it is time to slap on the mask. You should really go out to some facial masks that suit your skin and needs first. However, you can also make your own homemade facial masks. One of the easy and effective homemade facial mask is to use a ripe banana, mash it up and add some honey to it. Mix into a paste and then add a few drops of lemon or orange. Apply on your face and let it rest for about 10 minutes or so before washing it off. The honey will soften your skin and the lemon works as an astringent.
Fifth step: now that you have cleansed, exfoliated and nourished your skin, it is time to close those pores. Use your regular toner (and if you don’t have any, it is time you get some because it SHOULD be part of your skin care regime) and tone your skin.
Sixth and last step: This final step must not be skipped. Moisturizing your skin is very important as it will protect your skin and give your skin a layer of moisture so that it does not go into overdrive to produce sebum, thus causing oiliness. If your skin is dry, then it will be even drier without moisturizer. Just apply your regular moisturizer and then you are all set.
After this skin care treatment at home, you will find that your skin is brighter, smoother and more radiant than ever before. Best of all, you don’t even need to visit a beauty salon for a regular facial skin care treatment!
