  • How to apply make up foundation

Make up foundation is an important part of your whole make up step to blend everything in and highlight the best features of your face. However, it is also important to choose the right type of make up foundation to use before you purchase it and start using it in earnest.

For one thing, there are quite a lot of different types of make up foundations out there and the best foundation for you is the one that suits your skin and your skin tone so well that it brings out the best of your skin. A good make up foundation will not end up looking cakey or make you look like you had put on three inches of plaster paint. If you want to go for an easier and lighter foundation, you can also try out a spray make up foundation. And if you tend to perspire a lot and is in a humid place, you should go for waterproof make up foundation so that it does not go all runny and weird on your face.

When you choose your make up foundation, remember to match it to your skin tone. It is always wiser to go for a slightly darker tone than a lighter one because you will want it to match your neck skin tone too. However, you can also go for two tones, one that is as near to your skin tone as possible and one that is slightly darker so that you can use both to blend it into a natural color that suits your skin.

As for how to apply make up foundation so that it is almost invisible on your skin, you can either use a sponge first and then follow it up with a make up foundation brush or you can use only the sponge. If you are using a liquid make up foundation, it is best that you dot some of it on your forehead, your cheeks and your chin and then using a clean sponge, slowly blend it into your skin.

Now, if you are using a two-way foundation, it is pretty much easier. You just useĀ  the sponge to brush it all over your face. Then if you have a darker tone foundation, you use it to brush against the edge of your cheeks, near the neck, to make your face look thinner. Also, you can use a lighter tone foundation to brush under your eyes to hide the shadows there, if any.

If you are still unsure of what types of foundation to get, you can also check out various make up foundation reviews to get some basic background on which brands have what types of foundation and which ones you think will suit your skin. Always remember to try out the foundation on the back of your hand first to ensure it is not too light or too dark before buying it. Then get one that is slightly darker and another one that is slightly lighter.

Why three different tones of make up foundation? Simple. You use the one that is your skin tone first as the base. Then you use the darker one to contour your face to make it slimmer or your nose higher or your cheekbones more pronounced. As for the lighter one, you use it to blend under dark spots or the shadows under your eyes. The best foundation make up is always to hide all your blemishes and bring out the best features of your face.
