Eye Makeup Tips for Asians
No Comments
Try these handy Asian makeup tips the next time you have a special occasion to attend and you want your eyes to look spectacular.
The first step is to apply foundation and powder as you normally would. Take some loose powder and dust it just under the eyes. This way you can more easily brush away any unwanted eyeshadow without smudging the rest of your makeup. Eyelid prepping cream will make it easier for the skin to evenly absorb the eyeshadow, so apply that next.
Choose some neutral color of eyeshadow that has gold undertones and little bit of shimmer. Apply it to your eyelid. If you do not have an eyelid crease, you will want to create a visual break between the area underneath the eye and the eyelid itself. A thin strip just below the eyebrow left free of makeup will accomplish this task.
Carefully apply eyeliner at the boundary created by the upper lash and really work it in to create a seamless line. Work from one side to the other and make sure you have fully covered the area with liner. Use jet black for a more dramatic look or dark brown for something softer. Your eyes will really pop with this technique and an added bonus is the eyelashes already will look thicker, even without mascara.
To apply eyeshadow, start with the inside corner of the eye and move outward. Choose a single dark jewel color like blue, red, purple or green that can be found in three complimentary shades. Now with the shadow, apply a smooth gradient that goes from light on the inside corner to dark on the outside corner. For best results, apply the shadow with a small brush and use short strokes. Blend the boundaries between the shades well and do not forget that the strip underneath the eyes should remain bare. With another small brush, shade in that bare area with a very light color that works well with your particular skin tone.
The final step in the Asian eye makeup process is to apply volumizing mascara. Stroke upward and outward and approach the upper lashes from all sides including underneath. Now turn your attention to the lower lashes being careful not to smear mascara on your skin. Take an eyelash comb and remove any clumps. Use your hair dryer to thoroughly warm your eyelash curler. Carefully clamp down on the upper lashes and hold it there for fifteen to thirty seconds. Repeat this process one more time and you are done. If you need to wear eye makeup everyday, you might want to try eyelash perming, which will keep your lashes curled for months at a time.
Congratulations! Now you and your lovely eyes are ready to go out and meet your adoring public!
